"I am a Christian, and I am a devout Christian. I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe that faith gives me a path to be cleansed of sin and have eternal life. But most importantly, I believe in the example that Jesus set by feeding the hungry and healing the sick and always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful. I didn't 'fall out in church' as they say, but there was a very strong awakening in me of the importance of these issues in my life. I didn't want to walk alone on this journey. Accepting Jesus Christ in my life has been a powerful guide for my conduct and my values and my ideals."

You make this like its news. I really don't think that is why the President said to not jump to conclusions. You are a hell of a nut job. They didn't cover it up. Gee what would be the best way to learn about the people you wanted to harm? Integrate yourself in to their circles. Mostly I think he went to be active in his carer get promoted. Its pretty clear that he didn't plan his rampage until after he moved to Ft Hood as seen by his activities. Hey may have fantasized about if but never took action till his transfer. Just like everyone of us has had a fantasy about say I want to kill that so in so. Could be your boss or your significant other. The fact is that we dont. Yes I know that he identified with his "Muslim brothers" but that does not make it a crime until you act they way he did. Learn to read the article that you are referring to and don't make shitty dot to dot connections. This is why you sir are retarded.

I am stunned. I'm conservative, and thought the republican party was as close to these ideals as it got. I am surprised and delighted that those of us from the 'other side' are not alone and that the principals of the founders are not ignored by the majority of Americans. I too believe in following the founders intentions. Having attended law school, I cannot express my disappointment at having the constitutional law classes ignore the constitution itself. In fact, I was never required to read the Constitution or know its contents in any class in law school. I took a First Amendment class, and we weren't even required to read the First Amendment. As a prosecuting attorney, I see the excess and waste caused by the myriad of entitlements doled out by politicians to buy votes. Taxpayers are the victims of crime, must pay for protection from criminals in the form of law enforcement, for the costs of incarceration, prosecution and, to add insult to injury, we must provide them with legal counsel every time they break the law as well. These same people have the audacity to complain that they are stuck with public defenders. Thanks to the bail out, health care, and all of the other handouts, those of us working and paying taxes will be far outnumbered by those we support in just a couple of years. And if anyone is in doubt that this country is on the brink of communism, read 10 Books that Screwed up the World, and 5 More that Didn't Help. (Not a paid endorsement, just a great book.)
Perhaps it should not be the democratic reform party (as in the democratic party), but the democratic reform party as in the ideals of democracy. (The United States was formed as a republic, but calling this the republican reform party might be somewhat confusing.)
Thank you for your efforts. We agree on the truly important ideals.

The Coming Civil War
America is much divided on whether individual or community interests are most important. One side says people's interests are harmonious with their neighbors in community. It’s a simple premise and the base of the American political system, as expressed by the 19th century Democrats (see THE CHANGING FACE OF DEMOCRATS on Amazon books and www.claysamerica.com). Men labor, exchange, learn, band together, act, and react upon one another, and in this way, there can result from their free and intelligent activity, order, harmony, progress, prosperity and all things that are good and better. Just observing the free market and the prosperity of America proves this premise.
Communities are made up of men and women, and each in America is a free agent. As free agents, they can choose. Since they can choose, they can be mistaken. Since they can be mistaken, they can suffer. Many make mistakes and suffer; as they start from ignorance, and in their ignorance they see before them an infinite number of unknown roads, all of which, except one, lead to mistakes. Mistakes breed suffering. Suffering falls upon the person who was mistaken and requires personal responsibility. Their actions, coupled with the intelligence that has been given them to see the connection between cause and effect, will bring them back, by their suffering, to a path of truth.
Many, on the other side, believe men's interests, left to their own devices, will never combine harmoniously. They believe those interests, allowed to develop freely, lead mankind to injustice, inequality and poverty, simply because of the ugly and sinful nature of men. Therefore, they must oppose that simple premise. They must destroy American society as it is now because it grew from the sinful nature of man. They want to try another way. They believe the interests of community are more important than are the interests of the individual, the long established world governing principle of the few elite ruling the many. We just elected a President and political party that claim this position.
Individual freedom advocates do not deny mistakes exist; but recognize their purpose in community. If wrong-thinking is to fulfill its purpose, community must not encroach artificially upon individual responsibility. This is the tendency of most of our governing institutions, like parents and those offering remedies for the mistakes that afflict us. Under the philanthropic pretext of giving us a helping hand, the individual's sense of responsibility fades. The freedom of the individual to make mistakes is not respected.
Trying to force all Americans into a system of slavery, where government is the master, may cause a new civil war to erupt. Our tradition, based upon the first premise, has proven better than any system ever devised on this planet. If we look at the rest of the world, where eighty percent are starving and struggling to stay alive, America looks bright and wholesome. Many Americans may prefer to fight than capitulate to Obama and the modern Democrats serving the collective interests.

The Democratic Party of your father and your grandfather has been infiltrated and usurped by the new era socialists and the one-world government idealists. You would be hard pressed to find among them someone who had done a days hard manual labor, - let alone fed a family from it. And almost none have any military service either. They mostly grew up comfortable, secure, un-threatened, and developed an obnoxious sense of entitlement. And they learned how to game the system.

Today there is a feeling amongst them that Socialism is the only answer to the World's problems, - the only fair way to distribute wealth. They cannot grasp the concept that taking wealth from a man who has worked for and earned it is a form of government sanctioned theft. They simply believe that since they're so much more civilized than Stalin, Hitler, or Mao that their new form of world government will work just fine.

I wish to comment on abortion because nobody has addressed it from my perspective.

If a woman wants to remove a parasitic life form from sapping the life out of her she has the absolute right to make that choice. However, as a working man, I do not have that exact same right.

I want to abort welfare recipients and drug addicts who claim their addiction is a disability and collect social security disability, from taking the money by body earns.

There is absolutely no difference between my desire for an abortion and the abortion that women get on demand. My body produces what welfare recipients need to live their lifestyle, and I should have the same control over my body that every woman enjoys over unborn babies.

The only difference is that welfare recipients and women can vote and babies can not. So I think it is really chicken s__t to let women abort babies but to prevent me from aborting free loaders, just because free loaders vote and babies don't. My body and what I choose to do with it is just as valid a right as a pregnant woman and her right to control over her body.

For true equality of rights between the sexes, everyone should have abortion on demand, not just pregnant women.

I am a Conservative hanging loosely onto the GOP, but uncomfortable with doing that. I wrote a book called THE CHANGING FACE OF DEMOCRATS, on Amazon as well as my site www.claysamerica.com. In that book, I compare 19th century Democrats, beginning with Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, of course, all the way to Grover Cleveland to the 20th century Democrats. The 19th century party was more libertarian than are the current crop who calls themselves libertarians. The 20th century Democrat is in lockstep with Rousseau and Marx, rejecting the Jefferson crowd. They believe, and demonstrate it, that a few elite like themselves should rule the many, like us.

Marx, and those like him who condemn capitalism (their word) and individual freedom, say the interests of the community, which they define, are far more important than are the interests of individuals. It was Bastiat who said the legitimate self interests of individuals generate harmony in community, something the modern Democrat rejects with passion. Individual freedom began as an active philosophy following the landing and settlements of the Pilgrims in 1620. It created the free market and the enormous prosperity experienced in America. Jamestown brought us more of the European style of the few ruling the many, which, thank God, failed to gain permanent traction in America as a tradition. However, it is the modern Democrat who would accept Jamestown and its ideals of king and serf over the Judeo-Christian ideals of Plymouth.

So, in my studies and comparing the earlier Democrats to the newer ones, I have developed a soft spot in my heart for the Jefferson Democrats of libertarians who fought so hard to retain the sovereignty of individuals, their local governments and the rights of the states that formed the Union. I simply wish we could have them back in charge, and at that time I would drop the Republican Party like a red hot piece of coal. The Republicans have been somewhat consistent since Alexander Hamilton (a Federalist), Henry Clay (a Whig), Abraham Lincoln up to Teddy Roosevelt, all of whom desired a strong, interventionist central government in either New York or, later, Washington, D.C. The Republicans, except for Goldwater and Reagan, actually have more of what they wanted all these years, with the current Democrat leadership. They have a herd of confused libertarian-leaning conservatives like me being dragged along unhappily behind their anointed ones who so often compromise with the elite.

How can we get those early Democrats back?

I am neither Republican or Democrat, was so delighted to see Democrats also unhappy with their party, and this website to reform the Democrat party. I cannot really fall in with the Republicans because of their stance on Abortion. I did join a 9-l2 group because of the same beliefs that you have here. For better government and more Constitutionalist Representatives & Senators.
Thank you,

THE CHANGING FACE OF DEMOCRATS and the loss of our Libertarian Roots cover the history of the Democratic Party. America’s first major political Party changed from a libertarian party of Jefferson to Cleveland to a Rousseau to Marx-leaning liberal, left-wing party. The Democratic Party’s original ideals encouraged free markets, individual freedom, state’s rights and personal sovereignty. What happened? When and how did their policies begin to change? Why did a strongly patriotic party morph into one that blends communism, mercantilism and socialism? Whether you are Democrat or Republican, this narration is a study of history, fact, and the leadership that altered the Democratic Party. It shows that present day Democratic values do not reflect the true principles on which American society rests. www.claysamerica.com.

It shows that present day Democratic values do not reflect the true principles on which American society rests. www.claysamerica.com.

I recently asked my friends’ little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up.

She said she wanted to be President some day.

Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, ‘If you were President, what would be the first thing you would do? ‘

She replied, ‘I’d give food and houses to all the homeless people.’

Her parents beamed.

‘Wow…what a worthy goal. ‘ I told her, ‘But you don’t have to wait until you’re President to do that…you can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I’ll pay you $50. Then I’ll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.’

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, ‘Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?’

I said, ‘Welcome to the Republican Party.

Her parents still aren’t speaking to me.

Until now, I did not know there was a "reform" movement to take the Democratic Party back to its roots. It was the first libertarian party, from Jefferson to Cleveland. I wrote a book on it called THE CHANGING FACE OF DEMOCRATS to describe the 19th century Democrats and compare them to the modern Democrats who follow Rousseau and Marx. You can find that book on Amazon or my website, www.claysamerica.com, where I list the differences of America, the New World, and the rest of the world, the Old World.

First and foremost, no matter how many disclaimers you put on this, it is tantamount to treason and I, for one, will be more than happy to be a witness to such as described in our Constitution. Second, if you have a problem with the POTUS, find the votes in the House and Senate for an impeachment and conviction or we'll see you in 2012.
