Some of our Democratic Party Congressmen have consistently voted against efforts to support Israel in its continual struggle against terrorists.

A significant amount our Democratic Party Congressmen are consistently voting against efforts to support Israel in its continual struggle against terrorists. These votes demonstrate that anti-Israel views are a minority in Congress — but a minority composed primarily of the most left-leaning members of the Democratic Party Caucus.

During the Lebanon War in 2006, Congress voted to confirm its support of Israel’s right to defend itself against terrorism. While the measure passed overwhelmingly in the then-GOP-majority House, 11 Democrats and only one Republican voted “no” or “present.”

Some of the most liberal (and often powerful) members of Congress regularly appear on the “no” or “present” side of these and other Israel votes. Leading Democratic Party figures have also been dismissive about U.S. efforts to support Israel.

Outside Congress, some of the most vociferous criticism of Israel comes from the hard-core left within the Democratic Party, including Cindy Sheehan (”You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine, and you’ll stop the terrorism”). Other Democratic Party left-wing Iraq war critics have also taken aim at Israel.

The LA Times Refuses To Release Video Of Barack Obama attending a Jew-Bash and Toasting a Former PLO Operative.

The LA Times is holding a video that shows Barack Obama celebrating with a group of Palestinians who are openly hostile towards Israel. Barack Obama even gives a toast to a former PLO operative at this celebration. If the American public saw this side of Barack Obama he would never be elected president.

But, the media refuses to release this video.

LA Times writer Peter Wallsten wrote about Barack Obama’s close association with former Palestinian operative Rashid Khalidi back in April.

Wallsten discussed a dinner held back in 2003 in honor of Khalidi, a critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights.

Barack Obama has denied his close association with Khalidi, too.

According to Wallsten the evening not surprisingly turned into a classic Jew-bash:
“During the dinner a young Palestinian American recited a poem accusing the Israeli government of terrorism in its treatment of Palestinians and sharply criticizing U.S. support of Israel. If Palestinians cannot secure their own land, she said, “then you will never see a day of peace.”

One speaker likened “Zionist settlers on the West Bank” to Osama bin Laden, saying both had been “blinded by ideology.”Barack Obama also praised the former PLO operative during the event. And, Obama confessed that his family often shared dinner with the Khalidis.

Our Democratic Party is abandoning its historic sympathy for Israel.

Our Democratic Party is engaged in initiatives that will have the effect of further silencing the voice of pro—Israel supporters. Our party is seeking to expand voting rights to felons, which are denied by many states (the reasoning being that criminals guilty of major crimes should not have a role in helping to select lawmakers). As has been reported many times in the media, prisons have become centers of extreme Islamic proselytizing. Does anyone think those felons will be supportive of the America—Israel alliance?

Efforts by our Democratic Party to loosen voting requirements and abolish the Electoral College will also tend to weaken the support for the America—Israel alliance within the party, and within America. This is for two reasons: states such as Florida, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania have relatively large Jewish populations, the impact of which can swing the election in that particular state to one candidate or another.

These states also have a large number of electoral votes that can determine the President. By eliminating the Electoral College, these swing voters and their impact will be rendered meaningless. The same dynamic will affect pro—Israel Christian voters in smaller, more rural states. Their votes will become much less important if the Electoral College system is abolished. Meanwhile, our Democratic Party has capitalized on the maligned ‘War on Terror’ and the near hysteria over civil rights issues to court the increasing number of Muslims in America. Muslims have begun organizing politically and are receptive to these overtures.

This is best expressed by Daniel Pipes, a well—known scholar on Islam, “He has predicted that Arabs will become increasingly a key component within our Democratic Party and that the Democratic Party will abandon its historic sympathy for Israel.”
